Overview
An exhibition to display a collection of letters and papers written or signed by some of the greatest and most influential figures of the last 500 years. A routine Archive cataloguing project in 2024 uncovered something quite extraordinary. There are letters from the pen or direction of historical giants such as Elizabeth I, Benjamin Franklin and Lord Byron on a variety of subject matter. They offer a fascinating insight into some of the greatest minds of their time and the lives of people that continue to intrigue us hundreds of years later. Come and enjoy a curator-led tour giving further insight into the content of the exhibition and who collected the manuscripts and works on paper
